Aunt Pat's Super Sonic Salsa

Aunt Pat's Super Sonic Salsa

  • 4 cups ripe tomatoes, cored and cut into pieces

  • 2 cans of green chiles, chopped

  • 2 medium onions cut in pieces

  • 1 Italian frying pepper (the long kind), remove seeds and chop

  • 1- 8 ounce can of tomato sauce

  • 1 teas. salt

  • 2 or 3 cloves of garlic

  • 2 Tbsp of chopped fresh coriander (also called cilantro)

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp red wine vinegar

  • your favorite hot sauce to taste

Do not cook any of this!

*Place in a blender or food processor and chop using pulse button. You do not want to turn in into mush. Just pulse long enough to get it finely chopped. Green chilies are found in the Spanish foods aisle and coriander is available year round in the fresh vegetable section. Green chilies have a spicy taste and are not hot. If you do no have a blender, the ingredients can be chopped into very small pieces by hand. Keeps well for a few days in the refrigerator.

Note: This is my Supersonic Salsa. It's light-years away from store bought stuff. It was originally a Frugal Gourmet recipe, which I adapted for my own taste ~Pat
